My Interests in Dentistry

Prosthodontics

Both clinical and laboratory components of Prosthodontics have fascinated me from an undergraduate level. Being able to put into practice a lot of what I have learnt over the past few years has improved the quality of care I provide for my patients.

Restorative Dentistry

I thoroughly enjoy the challenge and attention to detail required to achieve the best holistic treatment outcome in challenging multi-disciplinary cases. The coming together of a multi-faceted long-term phased treatment plan provides me with a great deal of satisfaction.

Clinical Photography

I have enjoyed the concept of being able to effectively communicate dental treatments and limitations with patients. Clinical photography has allowed me to discuss treatment options with patients and more importantly show them progress through a particular treatment or the final result. Clinical photography continues to be a skill I refine but an essential part of my armentarium.

Reflective Practice

The concept of reflective practice was formalised for me during my FD year. Since then I regularly formally and informally gather evidence from different sources and develop a strategy to improve my professional practice both clinical and non-clinical.

Sharing Skills

I have always thoroughly enjoyed sharing my skills and understanding with others whether it is within the profession or out. As I gain experience within the dental profession I hope that I am able to share my skills with colleagues; dental auxiliary staff, administrative staff and dentists in an aim to improve team efficiency, skill-set and motivation.

As I continue to learn from experiences, colleagues and courses, further in my career, I hope to be able further my skill in teaching and education at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
